It started with a dream. A dream to build a community hub – a place to meet, learn, socialize, grow and play.
In 1997, the Nose Creek Sports and Recreation Association (NCSRA) was established to spearhead the development of Cardel Place in north central Calgary. The City of Calgary provided the capital funding and project management expertise to plan, design, and build the regional recreation facility. In 2004, NCSRA negotiated a Naming Rights Agreement with Cardel Homes and on September 20, 2004 Cardel Place opened its doors.
Since then, Cardel Place has welcomed over five million guests. We have said ‘hello’ to parents, children, couples, volunteers, athletes, coaches, educators, business and community leaders and spectators. We have seen individuals, families and entire communities come out and play – together. Cardel Place takes a holistic approach to well-being, building stronger communities in north central Calgary. Enhancing health, wellness and quality of life – come out and play today!
