Fitness Centre Orientation

New to Cardel Place? Or to fitness? Talk to us! The Fitness Centre is open seven days a week during regular building hours for guests 16Y or older. Youth 12Y-15Y are required to see a Fitness Attendant for orientation and access details. Our Fitness Centre attendants are happy to help with any questions you may have and/or introduce you to the equipment available. Drop-In Fitness Classes

Participants must be 16Y or older. Youth 12Y-15Y may participate if accompanied by an adult. Sign out a card at the Fitness Centre up to 30 minutes before class start to ensure a spot. See our Fall calendar for class times and instructors or visit our Daily Drop-In page.

Fitness Class Descriptions

All-in-One (beginner/intermediate)
A hi-low component, combined with strength, core and stretch makes for a time efficient means of having it all…in one. *20

Baby and You Stroller Fitness (all levels)
Bring baby and meet other new moms in this energetic class which couple cardiovascular drills with strength training exercises. Your stroller, various resistance equipment, and even baby are used as an integral part of the workout. Participants require a 6-week postnatal check up before participating. *20

Bosu Bootcamp (intermediate)
Use the BOSU for both cardio and strength training intervals. A great class for improving your core stability! May also include some step intervals. *20

Cardio Jazz (beginner)
Find your groovy side in this rhythm pumping, high intensity cardio class. No dance experience needed, just a pair of runners and a positive attitude. *20

Cardio Mix (beginner/intermediate)
Mix it up to challenge your cardiovascular system. This class incorporates various cardio activities including hi-low, step, bike, and ball, which we switch up weekly. You never know what you are going to get. *20

Cycle Core (all levels)
30-minute sprint cycle followed by a 30 minute core conditioning session. Can work at own intensity. *15
 
Cycle Yoga (intermediate)
Challenge your cardio, then soothe your soul. Begin on a Keiser M3 bike and conclude with Power Yoga postures to lengthen and strengthen muscles. *15

Deep Water Fitness (beginner/intermediate)
Low impact (use buoyancy aid to modify intensity). Includes cardio fitness fat burning, muscle conditioning and toning. *15

Gently Fit (beginner)
Strength and cardio components that can be modified to suit individual fitness levels. In conjunction with the Living Well Maintenance Program. *15

Intro Hatha Yoga (beginner)
Actively participate in this introductory Hath Yoga class to energize yourself with a variety of relaxing postural movements. *25

Power Cycle (all levels)
Intense cycling lass sure to keep you fit. Incorporates muscle development and fat burning drills. *15

Raise the Bar (all levels)
A results oriented strength class using the Ivanko Body Bar system and dumb bells. Great for body sculpting and toning! *20
 
Shallow Water Fitness (beginner/intermediate)
Cardio fitness, fat burning, muscle conditioning and toning. *30

Step & Sculpt (all levels)
A great combination of step aerobics and strength conditioning. *20

Sweat & Steel (beginner/intermediate)
This intense circuit rotates through cardio and strength stations using a variety of equipment for a total body workout. *20

The Works (intermediate/advanced)
High intensity 75 minute workout that includes step, strength, core and flexibility and incorporates the Ivanko Body Bar System. *20
